Club Field Archery Shoot 31st July

Today we switched the range over to a WA Field Archery set up. Field archery differs by having targets of mixed size and mixed distances – unmarked distances, so the archer has to estimate the distance before adjusting their aim. The smallest target is just 20cm across, and tha largest is 80cm across but is placed at the longest distances – up to 50 metres on the day.

The shoot was well attended and there were some good scores by both novice and experienced archers. Definitely an event for the diary next year.

The awards went to the following archers:
Gents Barebow: 1st Carl (also the top score of all bow types on the day), 2nd Kevin and 3rd Lloyd
Gents Recurve: 1st Stuart, 2nd Daniel and 3rd Paul
Ladies Compound 1st Emma
Ladies Barebow 1st Janet
Traditional Bow: 1st Hans, 2nd Ruth and 3rd Neil
Juniors: 1st Alex 2nd Thomas 3rd Raiden

Well done to everyone who took part in this tricky shoot, hope you enjoyed yourselves.
