All
new members are expected to be competent archers either through
shooting with another club or by completing our beginners' course.
Weather permitting, our beginners' classes are held during the summer months on Friday evenings (sessions
1-5), with a final 6th session held on a normal club day (Sunday
afternoon). They cover everything you need to know (and more) and are supervised by experienced club coaches.
Our beginners' courses normally run in the outdoor season but at the time of writing we are experiencing very high numbers
of people
wanting to get into the sport. While the demand continues, we are
holding beginner sessions from 2pm until 4pm on Sundays during
the winter months.
The cost is £30 per adult and £20 per junior plus £5
per week per adult and £2 per week per junior (which is the
club's normal weekly shooting fee). If a junior is
accompanied by a paying adult then the £2 fee is waived.
After the course, should you wish to become a member of the club,
we will deduct the cost of the course from your membership fee.
All equipment is provided for the course, you just need to bring your
sense of humour. We stress that you shouldn't buy
any
equipment until you have completed a course as you may purchase
something unsuitable and waste your money. Your coaches will be
able to advise you about equipment, just ask.
